Honey produced by bees foraging the blossom of the Sidr tree, Ziziphus spina-christi, which grows uncultivated across Yemen. The tree flowers for only a few weeks a year, which is why the harvest is small and the honey costly.

Region, and everything that follows from it. Hadrami, from Wadi Do'an, is dense and caramel-forward — the classic. Usimi, from the cooler highlands of Usimate, is lighter and more floral, sold with a piece of honeycomb in the jar. Shabwani, from the arid Shabwah plateau, is darker and more resinous. All are raw, single-origin and lab-tested.

Yes. It is not heated, not pasteurised and not fine-filtered. It may crystallise over time, which is a sign it has not been heat-treated rather than a fault.

No. Any raw honey can thicken or crystallise, and the honey is unchanged. Stand the jar in warm water for a few minutes if you prefer it liquid.

Room temperature, lid closed, out of direct sunlight, and always use a dry spoon. It does not need refrigeration and does not meaningfully expire.

Not under twelve months — honey is unsuitable for infants because of the risk of infant botulism. Above that age it is an ordinary food.

Every jar states the valley it came from and the season it was harvested. There is no grading system for Sidr honey the way there is for Manuka — a seller who cannot name both does not know their own supply chain.

One short autumn bloom, wild unirrigated trees, small yields per hive, nomadic beekeeping, and export from Yemen. Our jars work out to about $280 per kilogram; the 7 kg bulk gallons to about $142.

Jars are packed and dispatched from our US warehouse within two working days; US delivery usually takes three to five working days and international delivery seven to fourteen. The 7 kg bulk gallons are different: they ship free directly from Yemen — allow 3–5 weeks.

US orders ship free over $100; Canadian orders over CA$200; elsewhere, free over the local equivalent of US$200. Below those thresholds, rates are calculated at checkout by destination and weight. Bulk gallons ship free wherever you are.

Yes, tracked. International orders may attract import duty or tax set by your own customs authority; we declare every parcel accurately.

Send us a photograph within seven days and we will replace it or refund it. You do not need to send the broken jar back.

Thirty days from delivery, opened or unopened, no questions asked. We refund the full product price once the jar reaches us; the original delivery charge and return postage stay with you.
